MyApps FAQ

Spring 2025 updates:

*Provider has been switched from Citrix to Parallels RAS.  Client facing servers upgraded to Server 2025 and look similar to Windows 11.

What is MyApps?

MyApps is a virtualized computing environment where licensed software is made available through remote access sessions.

How do I access the applications?

Web browser: Directly at Myapps.wesleyan.edu

Parallels client: Use the Parallels desktop or mobile applications. This method allows direct access to files stored locally on your device.

Why do I get a blank page while trying to launch my session from the web?

An ad-blocker might be preventing the session from loading. Please check any ad-blocking software to see if it detects the page as a pop-up.

Your browser might be out of date, or other add-ons are conflicting with the scripts on the page. Try using a different web browser, or see if a private session browser session works as intended.

What is the Myapps Desktop?

The Myapps Desktop enables a full desktop-like experience. The session is opened in a Windowed form-factor. This session allows you to search for less commonly used utilities that come pre-installed with the apps.

Some graphics programs don't run smoothly in the app form-factor and need the full desktop for better performance.

What happens if I accidentally get disconnected?

Your session will remain active for 1 hour after you disconnect, after at which time your session is terminated. Please save your work frequently!

Where do I save my data?

How do I request additional software to be provided?

Submit a service request. Additional software plug-ins and app settings can be included upon request.

How do I report a software issue?

Submit a service request. If it's urgent, e.g. your session won't open, call the ITS Helpdesk at (860)685-4000.
